What is Lamprobe?
The lamprobe procedure is most commonly used to treat sebaceous hyperplasia and milia. Sebaceous hyperplasia is a condition caused by overactive oil glands that results in small skin-colored bumps on the face and neck. Milia are small, white, cyst-like lesions that occur as a result of excessive oil production and slow cell turnover rate. A cautery-like instrument is used to heat these unwanted lesions causing them to melt then easily heal. After the lesions have healed the result is a smooth surface. Sometimes more than one treatment is necessary. Our licensed aestheticians work closely with Dr. LaTowsky to ensure each patient’s cosmetic goals are met.
